Over the last weekend, JP Bread Smile Kids USA had a Zoom kids event.
One on Saturday in English and one on Sunday in Japanese! We baked a Setsubun Monster bread together. Kids prepared their dough on the night before, and then we baked the bread together in the event. This event lasted about 1 hour, and ate the bread for lunch. As you can see in these pictures, everyone did great job! Why did we make "monster" bread in this event? We celebrated a traditional day they have in Japan on 2/3 every year! During baking time in oven, we introduced what "Setsubun day" is. We hope to host this type of event again. にこにこキッズ5周年記念イベント節分鬼パンを作ろう!のキッズイベントを開催しました。 2日間に渡り、一日目は英語の部で二日目は日本語の部。 なんと日本語の部はキッズの数およそ90人も参加しましたよ! オハイオ州だけではなく、アメリカ中のキッズが集まりました。 コロナに負けない大イベントとなり、みんな美味しいパンを作りました。 焼成時間はスペシャルゲストの先生まで参加していただいて、節分に関する絵本や手遊びを披露されました☆ 色んな方々と参加してくれた皆さんのおかげで、楽しいいイベントになりました。 またキッズイベントを企画したいと思います!

Everyone is wearing mask because of COVID still around, but they have lots of fun! I am currently doing online-live lessons until everyone feels safe to come over and take classes.
Once it is ready to do in-person lessons, we can have up to 4 people in each lesson. We will have samples to try as well! These bread baking is fun for both kids and adults. My daughter who is 9 years old can now bake her own bread by herself. Amazing! I just wanted to take a moment and let you sneak peak my online lessons!
Of course, you don't need to wear a mask ;) オンラインレッスンはこんな感じ!オンラインはマスクいりませんね。 Typically, it takes 2 - 3 hours to bake a bread. Also, we use a kitchen aid to knead the dough. If you knead it by hand, it takes 20 minutes and your hands become a mess!
Here is what I would like to offer in this post, and the reason why easy bread baking is great for those people who are busy working, have kids, or want to bake a bread without a big mess.
